of Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics
KNUTE is one of the most reputable educational institutions in Ukraine, attested by the highest IV level of accreditation.
Its history dates back to the Kyiv branch of the All-Union Institute of Soviet Trade, established in 1946 in accordance with the regulation by Council of Ministers of Ukraine № 50 of 14.01.59 branch was transferred to the subordination of the Kharkiv Institute of Soviet Trade, in the same year - Donetsk Institute of Soviet Trade.
Kyiv Institute of Trade and Economics was established according to the USSR Council of Ministers regulation № 195 of 04.03.1966.
It was transformed into Kyiv State University of Trade and Economics by the regulation of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine № 542 of 29.08.1994
It was granted national status by the Decree of President of Ukraine № 1059 / 2000 of 11.09.2000.
The University is a leader in reformation of higher education in Ukraine, first in the country it made significant updates to the content of education, large-scale introduction of computerization, new educational technologies based on software, local global information networks. Modern complex of electronic library services has been created for readers. System of parallel education and integrated education in the stage of technical and economic policy operates actively.
The university serves as the scientific and methodological center for higher education institutions of Ukraine in the fields of training "Management" and "Trade". It is a developer of state educational standards in these areas.
It provides training, retraining and qualification improvement of specialists on public order and agreements with entities and individuals in the areas of domestic and foreign trade, financial system and law, customs, consumer protection, antimonopoly activities, business economics, banking and insurance, accounting, financial control, restaurant business, tourism, hotels and other parts of the infrastructure.
More than 34 thousand students study here, including 18 thousand of full-time education. Training is carried out in 5 directions (economics and business, management, trade, food technology and engineering, law) - 26 specialties, 36 majors.
Organization of training relevant to modern society specialties is attracting more and more attention of youth, a lot of entrepreneurs, organizations and businesses.

To ensure high level of practical training for students Educational and Production Association, Center of teaching and training firms, Center for product certification services and quality systems function here.
There are functional departments, library, career center and other units to organize and coordinate the educational process, educational work with students, research activities.
High level of training is provided by qualified, experienced research and teaching staff. The share of teachers with a Doctor and Candidate degree exceeds 70 percent. 13 Honored Science and Technology Workers, Honored high school and public education scholars, 4 Academicians and 4 Corresponding Members of the Academies of Sciences work here. A system of improving teacher skills, teachers mastering modern forms and methods of teaching has been created. There is a High School of Teacher Excellence.
KNUTE has entered into the contracts with ministries and enterprises on creative scientific and technical community and cooperation in the field of training specialists, particularly with the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine, National Bank of Ukraine, Ministry of Economy and European Integration, Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, State Tax Administration of Ukraine, State Customs Service of Ukraine, State Treasury of Ukraine, Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, Main Control and Revision Office of Ukraine, Pension Fund of Ukraine, the joint-stock banks "Nadra", "Aval", Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine, Ukrainian Association for Quality and other institutions.
KNUTE has established and has been supporting creative relationships with 52 universities from 21 countries. The University is the country representative in 7 prestigious international organizations, including the International Association for Higher Education, takes part in a range of international projects, particularly in training experts in treasury, banking, tourism and hotel industry.
Material and technical base of the university meets international standards. Students have favorable social and living conditions. There are a shop, a cafe, a medical center, a hairdresser, a laundry and other household centers for teachers and students.
