Rector of Kyiv Institute of Trade and Economics (1966-1985).
Tamara Ivanivna was born on January 5, 1925 in the village Mykhailivka (Kirovograd region), in the family of a railway worker. As a child she experienced many difficulties in the time of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. At the age of 16 she started working for Mahnitorskyy steel mill, continuing her schooling. Then Tamara Ivanivna studied in Kirovograd Pedagogical Institute and graduated in 1950 with a degree of history teacher.
In 1950-1951 she studied at teacher training courses at the Kyiv State University named after T. Shevchenko. In 1954 Tamara Ivanivna defended a thesis for the degree of candidate of sciences (Philisophy) on "Social and political and philosophical thought in Ukraine in late XVI - at the beginning of the XVII century".
In 1953-1957 she worked as a junior researcher, scientific secretary of the Institute of Philosophy at the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Her research during this period is devoted to historical analysis of social and political thought in Ukraine in the nineteenth century, the study of art, philosophy and political views of the famous Ukrainian writer Ivan Franko.
In 1956, T.I. Skyrda was given the academic rank of senior scientist in philosophy.
Large influence on shaping public positions, the disclosure of organizational skills was realized at her position of a deputy head of the Kyiv City Executive Committee, as well as at the post of a deputy of city council in 1957-1966. She exerted great efforts to develop education and culture in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, stood for the principle position in the revival of the national drama, spiritual and aesthetic education of youth.
In 1966, Tamara Ivanivna was appointed as the rector of Kyiv Institute of Trade and Economics, which was established on the basis of the Kyiv branch of Donetsk Institute of Soviet Trade according to the government act on March 4, 1966. The name of Tamara Ivanivna is tightly connected with the formation of this establishment of higher education and with nearly 20-year period of its development and functioning. Her main efforts were aimed at building and technical equipment of training facilities, residential, sports facilities, a set of faculty, research development, establishing the active cultural and educational work with students, creating favorable conditions for living in the dormitories. In 1967-1968 she initiated the construction of buildings at the new institute on the left bank of the Dnipro river, in the outskirts of Kyiv in the forest area. In 1972, the learning process begins in the new teaching and laboratory building. The first dormitory is built for 400 students. At the new place the institute is completely enacted in 1976. For its 10th anniversary the institute opened the assembly hall for 800 seats, the construction of which, like almost of all the buildings, was carried out with the active participation of teachers, students, staff, who worked in their spare time for "national construction".
Tamara Ivanivna remembers: "The educational establishment was set up on the basis of the branch of Donetsk Institute of Soviet Trade, where 30 teachers worked; only 6 were on payroll, all other worked on fixed-term basis. There were no room, any training and laboratory facilities. All this was to create, to make the learning process at the level of time demands. We have received the permission to design and construct the buildings in two stages with estimated cost of 5 million rubles. Kyiv City Executive Committee has allocated 20 apartments; we invited experienced teachers, doctors and candidates of sciences from Donetsk, Lviv, Kharkiv, Moscow, who became the faculty core. We have been allowed to set the Graduate School; we have been also given the permission to create the Academic Council of the defense of dissertations for candidate degree.
The institute gained its strength and popularity, the competition entrants were the highest among the other universities in Ukraine.
In connection with the need to overcome, to improve economic knowledge of employees in catering and trade we have expanded the courses in economics and trade accounting, introduced new special courses "The use of mathematical methods in economic calculations, "Demand and trading conditions" in the new subject "Accounting and financial activities analysis", as well as the courses "General Course of trade organization and technology" and "Trade organization of consumer and industrial goods".
Much attention was paid to humanitarization and humanization of training, where the main role, as the organizer and a professor of philosophy, was played by Tamara Ivanivna Skyrda.
Cultural and mass work among students has been started. Active part was taken by the members of the Great Patriotic War, who brought a special spirit of responsibility for the assigned work, initiative, organization.
On the demand of trade field in 1968 the faculty professional development of executives and specialists began its work at the Institute.
The branches of the Institute were set in Vinnytsia, Odessa and Chernovtsi. Later, the Odessa branch was closed down, and Vinnytsia and Chernivtsy branches were transformed into faculties.
The Institute made a scientific study to improve the organizational structure of state trade of Ukraine, development of strategy changes in the wholesale chain and introducing new forms of governance, namely, the establishment of wholesale and retail firms, trade associations on furniture, clothing, shoes, sporting goods. Much has been made for the development and introduction of modern methods of transporting goods in the retail network in Kyiv with the use of packaging equipment. Significant part of work was done to solve the problems of transportation and storage of fruits and vegetables, protein efficiency of raw materials and so on.
Under Tamara Ivanivna's supervision the Institute deployed international relations, signed long-term cooperation agreements with related schools of Leipzig (Germany), Bratislava (Czechoslovakia).
Substantial contribution to the advancement of science was made by Tamara Ivanivna personally as scholar-teacher. She made research on issues of ethics, aesthetics and psychology of trading as the components of improving the culture of commercial services, as a factor in increasing social prestige of the trade. A number of published scientific papers, including tutorial "Aesthetic in trade" (1972), the monograph "Psychology in the trade" (1977) were devoted to this problem.
In 1972, Tamara Ivanivna was awarded the academic rank of professor.
She has a daughter Skyrda Ludmyla - a recognized Ukrainian poet.
For the achievements in the development of education and science, active social activities Tamara Ivanivna has received many state awards, including Order "Red Banner of Labor" (1971), two Orders of "the Badge of Honor" (1960-1966), 6 medals. In 1979 she was given the honorary title "Honored Worker of Higher School of the Ukrainian SSR.
DAISAKU IKEDA
HONORARY DOCTOR OF KNUTE (2002)
A Japanese thinker, philosopher, writer, poet and educator.
Daisaku Ikeda was born in Tokyo, on January 2, 1928 in the family of algae merchant. His generation is the so-called "war children". Four of his elder brothers were sent to the front, one of them didn't return, and Ikeda Daisaku and other students worked on military production. Violent and fanatical nationalism of militarism of contemporary Japanese society, the horrors of night bombing aroused indignation of the young heart against the war, senseless tragedies and atrocities. Family poverty and ill health of Daisaku Ikeda just reinforced the spiritual confusion of the boy who looked for the answers to his questions in the books. Young Ikeda loved to read Whitman, Tolstoy, Goethe. He is familiar with the written works of Gogol. In the postwar time Daisaku Ikeda graduated from the Department of Political Science and Economics at Tai Sei Gakuyin (today - Tokyo Fuji University).
In 1947, at the age of 19 Daisaku Ikeda met Josei Tod - the second president of the Buddhist organization Soka Gakkai, who became his teacher and under whose guidance he studied philosophy, politics, literature, art, economics, law, chemistry and other sciences. This meeting led Ikeda Buddhist to Buddhist faith and to joining the Soka Gakkai. Buddhist philosophy, in Ikeda's opinion, is a peaceful teaching based on love and respect to the Man.
In 1960, Ikeda became the third president of Soka Gakkai. Since 1979 he is its honorary president. For 19 years of his running this organisation Buddhist movement was intensively globally developing. In 1975 Daisaku Ikeda founded the international Buddhist organization Sokka Gakkai International, SGI, and became the president of the peacekeeping secular society, whose members amount now to more than 10 million people, representatives of more than 190 countries and regions.
Daisaku Ikeda is the founder of several institutions that are designed to spread the ideas of humanism and mercy. Among them - the education system comprising kindergartens, elementary, secondary and high schools, universities, Education Foundation named after Makiguchi; in the field of culture - Concert Association "Min On", Museum of Fine Arts "Fuji" in Tokyo in the prefecture Sudzuoka; in the field of science - Research Institute of Oriental Philosophy, International Research Center on peace issues named after Josei Tod, Boston Research Center for the XXI Century and others.
Daisaku Ikeda is the author of many philosophical and literary works that reflect a wide range of his varied interests - this is poetry, scholarly works, works on policy issues and civilization. Noteworthy philosophical works are: "The revolution in the human soul" (in 12 volumes), "Life - a mystery, treasure" "My Buddha", and more than forty dialogues of Ikeda and the representatives of different religious traditions (Christianity, Islam, Judaism), as well as of the civilizations of East and West, and prominent thinkers of our time.
Daisaku Ikeda has more than 230 degrees and titles of honorary doctorate and honorary professor, that were awarded to him by universities all over the world.

Paying tribute to his merits for mankind Scientific Council of KNUTE assigned the title "Honorary Doctor of KNUTE" to Daisaku Ikeda in 2002.
In 2003 the delegation of the Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics, headed by the rector A.A. Mazaraki, visited the Soka Gakkai and handed solemnly to Daisaku Ikeda the Diploma of "Honorary Doctor of KNUTE", university certificate "Respect decent ", and also on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine the award of "An honored worker of education in Ukraine".
CHENEVOY MAURICE JEAN
Honorary Doctor of KNUTE (2002)
Chenevoy Maurice Jean is the director of Professionalized Institute of Management and the University of Auvergne- Clermont-1 (France). Chenevoy Maurice Jean was born in 1946 in Clermont-Ferrand, a Frenchman, has higher education - in 1967 graduated from the Law and Political Sciences of the University of Auvergne-Clermont-1, received diplomas: in law (1967), state law (1971), political science (1975). In 1977 he received the doctor of sciences degree for the thesis on "Intermediaries in the distribution of budget loans and investments".
Chenevoy Maurice Jean began his career in 1970 as an assistant at Technological University of Auvergne-Clermont-1. From 1980 to 1986 - he was a senior lecturer, the head of "Corporate and administrative institutions governance" department of the same institute. From 1986 to 1992 - Professor of University of Auvergne-Clermont-1, since 1992 has worked on the position of a director of Professionalized Institute of Management and University of Auvergne-Clermont-1 while performing the functions of vice-president of the University of International Relations (until 2000).
Along with basic research and teaching responsibilities Chenevoy M.J. used to perform various professional and public duties, in particular he was in charge of training at the Faculty of Law and Political Science (Paris, 1977-1979), at the Institute of Technology (Clermont-Ferrand, 1980-1982), at the Institute of general management training (Clermont-Ferrand, 1981-1993). He was the chairman of the general meeting of the Heads of Departments, the member of the National Pedagogical Committee, of the Administrative Council of the Heads of Departments, the coordinator of technological education areas of the University of Auvergne-Clermont-1, since 2000 he is a member of the National Consultative Commission of professionalized university institutes (France).
Chenevoy M.J. - is a recognized scholar in law and political science. He is the author of such work as "Leaders of public institutions, "The use of the procedure of calling for the observance of regulations in the National Assembly of the Republic V", "Regulation of the Constitutional Council of 17.07.1978 on the sanctions in case of attacks on the monopoly of radio and television", "Budgetary support of exporters", "Banking and Credit System in Auvergne and contribute to scientific research", "Loans", "Permissions (authorization) of programs and others.
Chenevoy M.J. was the initiator of the establishment and development of KNUTE cooperation with the University of Auvergne-Clermont-1, in particular, of the 1998 long-term agreement on cooperation between universities.
In 2000 Chenevoy M.J. initiated to establish the French-Ukrainian Institute of Management, where students, studying on parallel education basis, receive managerial education and get diploma of the government of France. This institute has received public recognition, became attractive to young people. Its offices are opened in Vinnitsa, Kharkiv and Chernivtsi. Over the years, the Institute has trained 252 professional managers, who were presented with the certificates of different qualification levels and are currently working successfully in France and in other countries.
Noting the significant contribution to reforming and improving higher education, promoting KNUTE development and its integration into the European educational community, in January 2002 the KNUTE Academic Council conferred the title "Honorary Doctor of KNUTE" to Maurice Chenevoy, the Dr. of Sciences, the Director of Professionalized Institute of Management and University of Auvergne-Claremont-1 (France).
It should be noted that in 2008 under the initiative of Chenevoy M.J. the University launched the joint project on training managers of small and medium enterprises (master's program), obtaining a double degree and training in administrative management in the region, municipal management. The project on organization of joint scientific supervision of theses of young scientists who will study on the 3 rd cycle (in graduate school) has been prepared.
RYSZARD BOROWIECKI
Honorary Doctor of KNUTE (2008)
The Rector of Krakow University of Economics (Poland), professor, recognized scholar in the field of modern economic science.
Ryszard Borowiecki was born on 07.01.1943 in the city of Zvolen, a Pole. Ryszard Borowiecki has higher education - in 1966 he defended his dissertation in Higher Economic School in Krakow and attended the courses for junior researchers, and in a year he worked as an assistant at the Department of Economics of the industrial enterprise. In 1976 he received a degree of candidate of sciences (in Economics), in 1989 - a doctor degree. The next year Ryszard Borowiecki was elected as the head of the Department of Economics and Industrial businesses, and in 1991 - as the director of the Institute of Industrial Economics. Since 1992, and till now Ryszard Borowiecki is the Head of the Department of Economics and businesses. By the resolution of the President of the Republic of Poland on January 24, 1997 he was awarded the title of professor of economics and by the resolution of Minister of Education in 1999 - the title of professor.
Ryszard Borowiecki was twice elected as the rector of Krakow University of Economics (2002, 2005).
The scientific achievement of Professor R. Borowiecki is significant and even unique: about 600 items, including 70 books (author, co-author, scientific editor), more than 200 scientific articles and papers published in Poland and abroad, and 25 books, dozens of unpublished research papers, projects and examinations.
Scientific, educational and organizational activities of Professor R. Borowiecki enjoyed public recognition and the highest respect. He was the Chairman of the Board of Krakow Branch of the Scientific Society of Organization and Management (1989-1998), then - the Chairman of the Main Board of the Society (1998-2005). Ryszard Borowiecki is the founder of Programmatic Research Society Real Estate Council, Deputy Chairman of the Scientific Council of the European Institute of government and public administration. He takes an active part in the activities of scientific societies at the Presidium of PAS. Taking into account the achievements as a scientist, R. Borowiecki was elected a member of the Committee of Organization and Management Sciences and of the Polish Academy of Sciences (1996-1999) and a member of the Presidium (1999-2003), then, since 2003 - a Deputy Chairman of the Committee. Professor R. Borowiecki was also elected to the Committee for Economic Sciences of PAS. Ryszard Borowiecki was elected to the Committee of Scientific Research (1999-2002), to Accreditation Commission for Higher Professional Training in Poland (1998-2001) and a corresponding member of the European Academy of Science, Art and Literature in Paris (2002), Honorary Doctor (Nonoris causa) of the University of Messina (Italy).
R. Borowiecki takes an active part in programmatic boards and editorial committees.
Scientific, didactic and educational, organizational and social work of the professor, doctor of economic sciences R. Borowiecki is widely recognized and marked by many honors and awards. Among them: the Officer Cross and the Cross of Cavalry Order of Rebirth of Poland, Golden and Bronze Crosses of Merit, the Medal of Narodowa Education Commission, Golden and Silver Medal "For Country Defense", the Golden award of Polish teachers communications, the award of "Merit for AC Statistics", the Medal in the name of Karol Adametskyi, golden honorary awards of scientific societies: Scientific Society of Organization and Management, Polish Economic Society and the Society of Accountants in Poland, and the awards of Krakow, Tarnow, Radomyl, Krosno, Sanok.
R. Borowiecki's significant contribution to the development of cooperation with KNTEU is to initiate and to direct involvement in undertaking cooperation in the triangle KNUTE-KEU University of Messina (Italy) in 2002.
When R. Borowiecki was at the head of Krakow University of Economics the exchange between KNUTE and KEU, academics and students was intensified. The first joint publication of the fundamental scientific work "Transformation processes in Poland and Ukraine" was issued.
The great contribution of R. Borowiecki in the development of education and science was awarded in 2006 with the medal named after Petro Mohyla. In 2007 he was elected to the Academy of Economic Sciences of Ukraine in "Management". The Scientific Council of KNUTE in November 29, 2007 conferred the title of "Honorary Doctor of KNUTE" to R. Borowiecki, identifying significant personal contribution to the reform and improvement of higher education, promoting KNUTE and its integration into the European educational community.
ALESSANDRO ANASTASI
Honorary Doctor of KNUTE (2008)
Alessandro Anastasi was born in 1938. In 1961 he graduated with honors from the University of Messina specializing in law.
In his university career, which began in 1965, he passed all stages: from assistant to professor. An evidence of his high recognition was government decree on awarding him the title "State professor" in 1985.
He has taught labour law, labour sociology and legal statistics for students of three faculties of the University of Messina - law, economics and political science for 43 years. Simantaneously he is a professor at the Graduate School of public administration in Italy.
At the same time he serves at the University of Messina as: Vice-rector for international relations, head of the labour law department, Director of the labour law section of the European Union and industrial relations. He also performs duties of a chairman of the University of Messina, is a member of the "European Legal Experts", member of the Scientific and Technical Committee of the Regional District Messina.
He lectures regularly on labour law at Sorbonne University in Paris, universities in Santiago Compostela, Cordoba and Ovideo, Cracow, Helsinki, Szeged and other European and North American universities. Cracow University of Economics in 2005 awarded him the title "Honoris causa".
He is a Chairman of the University of Socrates, arbitration court judge, lawyer, chairman of the Italian-Polish Association, former chairman of Lions Club "Messina Lonio".
He was also a coordinator of the Scientific and Technical Committee of the services and work in the district of Calabria, legal expert of the Committee for Environmental Protection in Sicily, member of the Scientific and Technical Committee of the Regional District of Messina, and he also was a member of the Center for evaluation of the municipality of Messina and a municipal expert in Milatso.
Alessandro Anastasi is an editor of the international research journal in Canada, director of "Atti della Accademia peloritana dei Pericolanti" in Messina, and "Analli della Facolta di Economia e commercio", chairman and organizer of several major European demonstrations: "Workers and trade unions of European enterprises, St. Vincent "1982," First European Meeting on new trends in labour law "Taormina 1985; I, II, III, IV, V European multisectoral seminar on studying in Canada, Giardini-Naxos, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1996, 1997; bilateral and tripartite workshops with the universities of Cracow and Kyiv.
Alessandro Anastasi is an author of more than one hundred scientific papers, including reputable scientific works which characterize him as a scientist: "Models of manufacturing and trade union of democracies," "Employment. National experience", "Globalization, labour, social security", "Europe. Employment policy". He is a member of the Legal Committee of the National Scientific Research Council and the Advisory Committee of the National University Council.
Alessandro Anastasi makes an important contribution to the development and increasing international prestige of KNUTE, primarily by having initiated (together with A. Mazaraki and R. Borowieckii) establishment and implementation of international project "The annual trilateral (Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics - Cracow University of Economics - the University of Messina) scientific and practical symposium".
All six sessions were devoted to social, environmental, economic and legal aspects of small and medium enterprises, business globalization.
A. Anastasi has played an important role not only in the organization of two workshops in Italy, but also in the preparation of factful publications on the results of all six workshops.
