Academic Council Meeting
Scheduled meeting of the Academic Council of the University took place on January 20, 2010.
The results of research work in 2009 and tasks for the year 2010 were considered. The speaker was vice rector for scientific, educational and methodological work Prytulska N.V., Doctor of Sciences (Technical), Professor. It was noted that in 2009 in general scientific work at the University acquired progressive development, the priority areas of research were formed. The concept of long-term development of scientific and innovation work of KNTEU was developed and approved. National certifying body of Ukraine recognized that KNTEU quality management system, of which scientific work is an integral part, meets the requirements of GOST ISO 9001:2009 (ISO 9001:2008).
The attention of departments, university scientists and teachers was focused on solving the issues of the development of trade, management of the consumer market, formation of the competitive environment, improving the methodology of innovation and investment management, efficiency of the budgetary system in the global crisis, market research and advertising, development of tourism and hotel services in Ukraine, ensuring quality and safety of products, development of technology of preventive and nutrition products, consumer protection. The plan of research work in 2010 was worked out.
Last year were conducted researches on 145 academic departmental and interdepartmental subjects, 14 - basic and applied researches on order of MES of Ukraine and 3 - self-financing. Research center for certification of products, services and quality systems worked actively.
University scientists received 19 patents and positive decisions on the inventions. 39 monographs, 17 books and 84 textbooks were prepared and published, that is more than a year ago. 6 issues of the "Bulletin of KNTEU", 2 - "Products and markets" were released. The findings of the researches were published in 1313 articles, including 109 in foreign journals. Results of scientific and research work were discussed in 34 scientific activities, including 12 international. A series of measures "Trade in Ukraine. Manufacturer - trade - consumer: the balance of interests " with discussion of pressing issues of strategically important component of the economy was launched.
Scientific cooperation of the University with other universities in Ukraine and abroad, business structures on international programs and agreements of the commonwealth was fruitfully carried out. Library is constantly updated with modern scientific national and foreign publications, current periodicals. Digital Library of Theses is functioning actively. Cooperation with TV channels for publication of the results of examination of goods was expanded. However, work with the media needs further development.
Research is carried out by students via their participation in competitions and contests, student scientific and thematic conferences of the University and other institutions, completion of the scientific and research work of departments, preparation of scientific publications (1712 articles, including correspondent students), research work groups and discussion clubs. During the year student research society conducted a series of events to discuss issues related to the processes of globalization, the consequences of the financial crisis, social advertising, food safety, etc. Work on the purposeful student scientific work throughout the period of study needs improvement.
Scientists of KNUTE have defended 8 Doctor and 32 Candidate theses. A new structure of the individual plan of graduate student work was developed, program to graduate school entrance exams was updated and published, rules of entry to graduate school were approved, the agreement on training graduate students at the expense of public order was adapted to modern conditions. The work to identify the most talented youth and young teachers to form a reserve for post-graduate and doctoral studies was concretized.
Scientific-methodological commissions of MES of Ukraine work actively. Sphere standards of higher education in three disciplines, the section passport of professional direction "Economics" of Scientific Council of MES of Ukraine were developed.
Positively evaluating the results of university scientists' work, Academic Council noted the need for further ensuring of effective forms of combination of scientific and educational activities, integration of scientific potential of KNUTE experts to solve socially important problems; intensification of the involvement of orders on research for the departments from ministries, offices, organizations , the commercialization of research results, their emergence on the national and international level.
On the agenda large-scale solution was adopted which is aimed at further development of science and innovation, implementation of research priorities for the development of trade, study of legal regulation of this sector in different countries, development of complex of scientific and methodological providing with training, retraining and rising qualification of specialists of tourist support and services to participants of the Championship Euro-2012; identifying directions of financial system development in economic crisis; development of adult education and distance learning technologies, etc. There are measures to improve the scientific content of courses, conduct seminars and trainings, consulting businesses, intensify attraction of students to scientific work with the appropriate reflection in the subject of the master's degree work, scientific articles of Masters, close cooperation with scientific institutions and organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, state branch academies of sciences, entrepreneurial structures. Action plan for improving the preparation of scientific personnel was outlined.
Academic Council adopted the enrolment plan for 2010/11 academic year, approved the reports of specialized academic councils D 26.055.01 and D 26.055.02 on their work in 2009, considered reports on the implementation of individual training plans for doctoral theses, recommended candidates for the appointment of scholarships to young scientists and students. Two books and a monograph was recommended for printing.

Scientific Board Meeting
Scientific Board Meeting of KNUTE was held on the 24 of December, 2009.
Director of Vinnitsa College of Trade and Economics, an Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine Stephanenko S.P. for his substantial contribution to the development of Ukrainian state and for strengthening the independence was awarded the Certificate of Gratitude of V.A. Yushchenko, President of Ukraine. The award was handed by the representative of Presidential Administration of Ukraine. Scientific Board members heartly greeted Stephanenko S.P. on this occasion.
According to the results of external audit carried out by experts of National Organization of Ukraine in certification (УкрСЕПРО) it was acknowledged that in Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics the system of quality management as to providing services in the sphere of educational and scientific activity is fully in conformity with the requirements of DCTY ISO 9001:2009 (ISO 9001:2008). Certification Organization Manager Mukharovsky M.Ya. handed the University the Certificates of the National Organization of Ukraine in certification (УкрСЕПРО) and ДП "Укрметртестстандарт". The certificates of internal auditors of the system of quality management were handed to a group of university employees.
Rector Mazaraki A.A. handed a Letter of Thanks of the prime-minister Yu. V. Tymoshenko to a 5th year student of the Faculty of Economics, Management and Law Didus for substantial personal successes in education and scientific activity; prof. of Marketing and Advertising Department Ye.V. Romat was handed an honored certificate of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for his personal contribution to the development of science. Diplomas of candidate of Science were handed to: Vasylenko A.V. (Finance Department), Konovalenko V.M. (Department of Entrepreneurship Economy), Poteryaylo I.Yu. (Finance Department), Serdyuchenko O.V. (Law Department).
On a competitive base the Scientific Board elected to the positions: head of the commercial law department - prof. Nickolayeva L.V., prof. of Law Department - Ladychenko V.V. Doctor of Sciences (Law), profs of hospitality service, restaurant and tourism business department - Melnychenko S.V., Doctor of Sciences (Economics) and Shulgina L.M., doctor of Sciences (Economics), prof. of Marketing and Advertizing Department - Romat Ye.V., doctor of Sciences (Economics) Scientific title of ass. professor is awarded to Golovach N.A. - ass. professor of the Department of Statistics and Econometry, Tarasyuk M.V. - ass. professor of the Department of Finance.
The plan of publishing textbooks, educational supplies and monographs was adopted; the plan of scientific and research work of KNUTE for 2010 was adopted.
Scientific Board looked at the reports about fulfilling individual plans of preparing doctoral thesis by doctoral students Bardash S.V., Golub B.O., Tarasyuk M.B. and it was recommended to transfer them to the second year of studies.
Other problems were discussed, concrete decisions were taken.
At the end of Scientific Board meeting rector of the university A.A. Mazaraki congratulated all members of Scientific Board and all those present on coming holidays - New Year and Christmas and wished everybody good health, wellbeing, happiness and success in their work in 2010.
