THE PREPARATORY DEPARTMENT
FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS
The Department trains foreigners for their further studies in Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics and in other higher educational establishments of economic, humanities, engineering, medicine, biology field. It also organizes the study of Ukrainian / Russian for post-graduates, doctors and businessmen of foreign countries.
Among the students of the Department you can find the representatives of all part of the world: Europe, Asia, Africa, Near and Middle East, America.
The students learn deeply Ukrainian / Russian, special terminology in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Computing, Literature, Geography and get the basic knowledge in these subjects.
After a final exam they are given a certificate to prove their knowledge of subjects.
The academic staff of the Department has many years of experience as teachers in Ukraine and abroad.
Different forms of studies (practical lessons, lectures, seminars, role playing etc.) give the possibility to students to learn better the material thanks to application of modern methods and technology of study. The students are provided with the new basic students books including university authors.
Foreign students are accommodated in the hostel 5 minutes walk from the Department and 10 minutes from the metro station Lisova.
Accomodation and training are paid. Training costs (in 2009-2010) - 1960 dollars, residing in a hostel costs about 300 dollars.
The foreigners are admitted to the Department if they have:
• the special invitation given by the University authorities personally through foreign agents or a firm;
• original of the Secondary School Certificate or notary attested copy in Ukrainian / Russian;
• the passport;
• the latest health Certificate (including AIDS test Certificate);
• return ticket;
• 12 photos (4X6 cm size).
If you have made up your mind to study at the Preparatory Department, inform us about it. Then you will receive our invitation to submit an application for a visa to the Ukraine Embassy in your country. Inform us about your arrival and we will meet you at the airport or railway station. Please, arrange to arrive from August 25 to November 15. We will be happy to see you at our University.
